When your hometown hosts an event as popular as the Testicle Festival, having the “cajones” to write a song about it…is well, ballsy. Local business owner, Mel Sanguinetti is no stranger to writing songs that reflect the western traditions of Oakdale, CA, “The Cowboy Capital of the World.” Back in the 70’s, Mel wrote the Oakdale Song, Rodeo Queen and Western Festival song. He recently finished a song about the famous H bar B Saloon, a local favorite and cowboy watering hole. Recording the Testicle Festival song, required “hanging around” with some “nutty” friends. Helping Mel was Greg Rivera on guitar, dobro and mandolin. Fred Stepp did the fiddles and mandolin, Sam Eldridge was the sound engineer and Mel wrote and sang it. Hope you all enjoy!
